KnK Acrylic Ornament Challenge

Members of KnK kit company were given four acrylic ornaments and challenged to strut their stuff. One was to be KnK inspired and one was for an oh oh moment and two others to decorate as we liked. This was such a fun challenge. Thanks Ga and Sonia!

KnK Holiday Gift Ideas blog hop

All of us have people on our holiday shopping list for whom it is hard to buy...a fifteen year old nephew, a uncle or aunt who has everything, the child of a friend and, in many of these cases, the solution to the problem is a gift card. While giving a gift card is not my first choice, it is often the best one to make. Rather than buy one of the ready made cards in the card store for gift cards, I have elected to personalize the card holder even if I can not personalize the gift itself. Using a template, I created library book pockets out of card stock and heavy patterned papers; I downloaded images from the internet and printed them onto textured or canvas papers, embellished them with Stickles, glitters and paints and added the trims. I made handles for each so these can hang on a tree as well. Hope your enjoyed these.

I believe your next stop is Lynda's blog (http://positive-force.blogspot.com/) Enjoy our blog hop.

ACOT Altered Glassware class

I taught a class this morning at the ACOT weekend crop on altering glassware. These make the best gifts. I fill the ones with lids with pretty colored bath salts and the martini glass are filled with holiday candies. I put them in pretty gift bags and hand them out during the holiday season.

ACOT REVEAL: Paper Adventures Travel Lines

My reveal went up today at A Cherry on the Top (http://www.acherryontop.com/article?a=8631) and I can only say that Paper Adventures has come a long way and the new travel lines rock the house. I have been working here and there on our album from our Italy trip five years ago but haven't done much in the past couple of years til I saw these papers and embellishments...be still my heart! WOW.

I'll post the 4th. layout tomorrow. Two of these use the pictures from our Italy trip and the layout with the mini book fold out is from a day we spent with our good friends, Janet and Bob not too long ago.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Halloween to one and all

I'm off to cavort (don't you just love that word) with some gal pals on an island and then off to see Mickey. Not sure what I can alter either place besides reality! lol. I promise lots of goodies though coming soon. After all, it is time to make Christmas surprises, right?

And many thanks to my honey who is holding down the fort here while I gain inspiration from the love of friends!

Gratitude Box for KnKclub.com Nov. Reveal

We have had a fairly stressful year so far with major health issues for many of our family and close friends. It is time to put a positive spin on things and, to do this, I created a Grateful Box (within a box) with name tags for the five members of our immediate family. I am hoping that we can each take our tag and write down one thing for which we are thankful, place them in the box and pull them out at Thanksgiving next year, perhaps even adding more, making this a family tradition.

The November kit from KnKclub.com had the perfect papers and embellishments to help me create my Gratitude Box.

Tattered Angels and Prima Card

My muse has been visiting in full drive lately. In the past three days, I have done six layouts, this card and another, a Gratitude Box for our family for Thanksgiving and have started an altered project.

I used the Glimmer Mist limited edition color, Indian Corn, on one of the Tattered Angel cards.(both the Glimmer Mist and the Cards may be purchased from KnKclub.com)' I wanted parts of the card to look like old peeling leather so waited until the Mist was almost dry and used my thumb in a circular motion to lightly lift some to the surface and then I Misted again, blotting with a textured paper towel. I used a Brilliance gold and lightly dusted the embossed print and images and inked the corners and sides. I stamped the bird cage (B Line Designs, LLC) in gold and heat set. To give the escaping birds a bit of pizaaz, I stamped them on a transparency and cut it out, gluing them in place. The final step was to attach the amazingly beautiful Jewel Glitters Spray by Prima into place. This is a special card for a special person...will it be you? Watch your snail mail.
"They" say the muse only comes to visit when the soul is at peace...thinking it is true! Hope you have a great week to come.

ACOT reveal: SEI and BoBunny

I fell in love with the Christmas Mint and it was perfect for this BoBunny chocolate mini album and so easy to fill with memories from last year's Christmas events. These are all available at ACOT (www.acheeryonthetop.com)

My ACOT reveal for Oct.

Using the little 6x6 wooden Christmas trees from Genuinely Jane Studios and the Christmas Mint line of papers and embellishments by SEI from the ACOT store, I created this tiny tree that could be sent as a Christmas card (the two sections slide apart) or used as a place card holder at a dinner party or even serve as a small gift. I'll post the other two projects from my reveal over the next couple of days. Thanks for looking'

More details on Witchy Woman

I got notice this morning that my Witchy Woman had been accepted for publication and that more detail photos could be found here. To save viewers the chore of looking back through posts to find the rest of the photos, I've posted them here. As soon as Halloween, one of my favorite holidays is over, WW (as I now call her) will join her other sister altered torsos and dress forms on the recess over my work room closet. Thanks to all for looking.

Board book for Knkclub.com Oct. kit

In the October kit, in addition to the wonderful papers and embellishments, we got the 7 Gypsy board book blank pages. I used my Zutter to create a mini book from these about updates to our garden. The purples and greens of the kit were perfect for this mini album and I love the weight of the board book pages...the possibilities are endless with these! I used chipboard pieces to create an assortment of tags for the pages.

Interrupting this program to...

let you know of still another great site I've found. Che Bella Carta has such lovely papers, I wanted to share these with everyone as I do whenever I find a place that offers something I know I can't live without.

Check out these papers and thanks to Scrapbooking.com where I found the link!

http://www.chebellacarta.com/

I'm going to have to wait until company leaves tomorrow to order so don't buy them all...save some for me!

A Cherry on the Top (more Sept. Reveal)

E uses more recipe cards than he does recipe books and he is always misplacing them during his cooking frenzies so, using the papers and the darling little paper clips from the store at ACOT and a vintage hanger from Crafty Secrets, I created a hanging recipe card holder. It can hang from a cabinet pull as I've shown here or can hang from a magnet from the stove hood for easy viewing. The cards slip right into the cute paper clips which are glued to each of the two panels. It works great. Thanks for looking.

September Reveal for A Cherry on the Top

I selected Shabby Green Door as my reveal product for this month at A Cherry on the Top and added a few more wine and food related products as well. I did three altered projects for this reveal and one layout and all are about cooking or wine. The wine journal is my favorite but the Guest recipe box is E's (I think because it serves such a useful function: the box is divided alphabetically and each person who has stayed with us, will have his or her own card detailing the dates of the visit and what meal E prepared for them)

To read more about how I created these projects and where you can get the 'ingredients' to create your own, you can check out this article, http://www.acherryontop.com/article?a=8171 at ACOT and thanks for looking.

Nikki Sivils is coming to town

Isn't this just the cutest little altered book you've ever seen? If you are a Florida gal, you take this class in Sarasota on Oct 3 by contacting KnK club at 239-4649337. I am putting this info on both my blogs as I know some people only come to this one and others only visit the other and I don't want anyone to miss the opportunity!

Have a great day...oh, and I've been playing with more coffee filter roses...I now have dew drops on some of them...hold the Crystal Accents above the rose and let a drop fall here and there...Thanks Becky S for that tip! Will post another tomorrow.

Genuinely Jane Studios reveal for September

My second project for this month was this little pear mini album. I love working with the grain of the wood so stained this with inks and dyes to get the rich fall colors. I have created this as a birthday card for my honey and on the last panel will write..."all over again". I adore the peek a boo pear cut out which lends itself to all sorts of possibilities. Thanks for looking.
