Witchy Woman

When I get blocked on one project, I move to another and come back to the first. Somehow this seems to clear the block. So, today I put everything on my work table to one side and worked on my Witchy Woman.

Since I was I child, I could not imagine a better H'ween costume than that of a witch...and then, as an adult to read Wicked and Son of a Witch (and boy, did Elphaba get a bum rap), I've been wanting to do a Witchy Woman...she would be chic and elegant and powerful!

Her skirt has 5 layers of fabric and ribbons that have been Glimmer Misted and painted with gold. I free handed her hat and layered on mesh and more Glimmer Mist, the bodice is a bow and the broom is a Christmas sprig I bought for 7cents that has been 'treated'.

So, here is my Witchy Woman...and you'd best behave 'cause she has you in her sights, you and ToTo too, my pretty! lol

Inspiration

I picked up a copy of both Somerset Home yesterday and Artful Blogging and am so inspired. Sometimes a flower or a bit of ribbon on a piece in one of the magazines will set my thinking. Yesterday it was a torso and I have one sitting on a shelf, neglected and lonely and ugly from another attempt at doing something with 'her'. Now, I have a second plan. Cross your fingers, please!

More progress on the notebooks...

I've been spending a few Friday nights at the lss, Ruban Rouge, with a great group of ladies, and am making progress on the notebooks. These all have to be done (all ten of them) by the first week plus a couple of days in Dec. I have 7 covers done, 4 completed inside and more to go...

This would have been a lot simpler had I made them all the same but each is different in cover design and theme...and, of course, one has to be vampy, right?
I have a travel one, a bird themed one, a journal/pen/ink themed one, ...well,you get the picture.

and I've been playing with coffee filters...why you ask? For fun and I've been creating some roses and leaves...will do a show and tell when I get finished.

Happy creating to you!
