Latest fun

These started off as journal blocks for a layout I did yesterday (posted on Posting from Paradise blog)but each, for different reasons, just did not work. So, I turned one into a Mother's Day card and the other's purpose is yet to be determined.
So, as my grandmother use to say, waste not, want not. I am sure I'll put the tag to good use somewhere.

Art Notebook One

I am working on a series of ten Art Notebooks using the small moleskin ones that you can get in two or three packs. These will be my gift to several artsy women who are all in a gift exchange group for next Christmas. Why am I doing this now, you may ask? Well, the last time I did one as a gift for a blog friend, the notebook covers, the inside work and the stamping took me a couple of day total and then another day for the project to dry as I had coated it with a sealer. If I don't start now, I'll never get all ten done the way I want them to be. These are such a pleasure to design and execute. Each will be different with a theme for each carried out on the inside with stampings and inks and lots of fun fold outs and places to take notes. Wish me luck.

This is the first of the notebooks. I have finished the front and back covers and a couple of the inside pages. I used silk paper for the notebook cover and don't think I'll have to put a sealer on this one. Hope the girls like them.

T ag: you are it!

I like to make tags out of left over papers from the KnK club. kits. These are two I made using the PDQ papers, some stamps and ribbons. I use these like cards or as an embellishment on a layout. The little girl stamp is one of my favorites and I got her at Owl and the Pussycat in Ft. Myers, Florida. Thanks for looking!

I have finally decided on what to use my 7 Gypsy book covers and papers that I was putting together at the knk Sock Hop Crop. After my grandfather died in 1954, my grandmother and two of her friends boarded the Queen Elizabeth ocean liner and toured Europe for several weeks. I have very few pictures from this adventure but what I do have is her travel journal. I am thinking I'll scan her entries, use what few pictures I have and supplement with vintage post cards of the places she visited. Her journal is tattered and falling apart. I may even add journal pages of my own of when I was in Europe some 30 years after her visit as our impressions are similar. I hope to get started on this this week. Will keep you posted on how it is going.

Adding a new place to my list

and now Sara has a blog...check it out!

This is one of the best 'flea markets' online! Big fan!

Yes! I am still in my bird phase...

I picked up this little wooden bird house at Jo's Friday. I was an hour early arriving in Ft. Myers so used my time wisely while waiting to pick up Jill at the airport...I shopped! What else?
I picked up the papers at the crop from Gerri-anne Duke (owner of knkclub.com). They are a new release from Chatterbox. Boy! has that company come a long way. The darling little butterfly is from Owl and the Pussycat Stamp Store in Ft. Myers. Regina, the owner, uses these little sweet things on cards. They mail great as when you open the card, they pop right back up with wings a flutter.

Kip and I both bought scads of the new 7 Gypsy releases at the crop form knkclub.com and she is finished with her book. She had pictures to add. I am about half way done with mine and will post it by Monday, pinky promise. Love love love all the new transparencies and book covers...oh my.
