Canvas Corp burlap book and play time!

So, instead of finishing the laundry, instead of printing off things for my class next Sat, instead of unpacking the rest of things from the beach....I played.  Got some good advise from some wonderful women and they were right.  Laundry will get done, kits will get loaded and things will get unpacked.  What I needed was some creative therapy

I bought this book at Scrapbooks Etc. in Bonita Springs, Fl and had been wanting to start a mini album with it.  This is just the cover but I did take some notes on ideas while we were at the beach.  It may be a while before I get more done as, alas, laundry awaits, kits need to be loaded, I have some projects to complete for Gecko Galz and yes! unpack.

UPDATE:  I put the tie through the other way and tied it on the opening side...much easier!

As always, thanks for looking.

Back in our little slice of Paradise

I've been going through creating withdrawal the past two weeks but managed to off set it with long, lovely walks on the beach and some retail therapy.  I did keep a notebook of inspirations and hopefully later today when the masses of beach towels and sandy clothes are done, I'll be able to play a bit. .

The Crazy about Canvas class is this Sat. and loading kits is also on my agenda for this week.  Last I checked there were still two openings in the class so you can call Posh Scraps at 727-784-2928 for details.

No visit to Ft. Myers is complete without visiting Owl and the Pussycat Stamp Art Store on HW41 in S. Ft. Myers and Scrapbooks Etc. in Bonita Springs...wealth of inspiration at both stores.  Thanks Regina, Janet and Colleen.

Scrapping at the POSH

What a wonderful Wednesday:  thank you Jacque, Diane, Cynthia, Sonya and Katherine...too much fun and I even managed to get 3 layouts done.  Lunch at Marathon, fun shopping at Posh Scraps and lots of girl and scrap talk...who could ask for more.

The top layout photographed a bit dark but boy those baby blues sure shine on our little girly girl.  Kristen took a great set of photos for this ol' Nana to scrap.

I took this one of the kids at Kim and Mitch Day's wedding reception.  When I was teaching last Sat. I showed the gals how to alter the photo and filter out the people in the background.  I like how the picture turned out so much, I printed it to take with me today!
Kristen caught the twins on the bike...one doing the heavy work and one along for the ride!  Because of the colors in their shirts, this 4th. of July paper was perfect for this one.
Michele at Posh is having a 25% off sale in the entire store today and the place was buzzing.  Don't delay and we did leave some things...lol.

If your Wed. was half the fun of mine , you had a pretty great day!

Victorian Boudoir Bottle

Rainbow's End Quilt Shop in Dunedin is celebrating their 30th year in business.  When we were all in last week, we were offered the opportunity to participate in a challenge to mark the occasion.  We were each given a bag of the most beautiful charms and told to create something with them.  This is my creation for the challenge.
As I did with the Found Object: mermaid in a bottle, I dribbled alcohol ink (cranberry) down the back and sides of this fun vintage glass I found at Beall's Outlet this morning.  I first dabbled gold krylon ink on various parts of the glass with an artist's sponge.
The lace on the top and the bottom of the bottle is vintage given to me by a friend.
I am imagining the bottle filled with bath salts for the lady's tub.
I need to get this and the Mermaid in the Bottle both to Rainbow's End (I've added some beautiful seahorse charms dangling inside with the mermaid) before we leave for the beach.

As always, thanks so very much for looking.

Crazy about Canvas class posts before Monday

Sorry all, I thought I could get it up today but no go.  So, as a way of apology....Greetings from Florida...where right now it is cooler than about 75% of the US and people say they could never live in Florida because of the summer temps...ha!

This card is for my gal pals...you know who you are and isn't this just us on some beach somewhere?

Gecko Galz Project #3 for July

I used the "B is for Banner" from the July Gecko Galz collage releases  for this tote that I dyed with LuminArte's Radiant Rain Shimmering Mist.  I printed the banners onto iron on  fabric paper by June Tailor.

This will be one of the three projects I will be teaching at Posh Scraps co sponsored by Gecko Galz Aug 4.  I'll put up more details on that class later this week.

As always, thanks for looking here and all comments are so appreciated.

Gecko Galz Project II

The photo transfer of the Monday's Child collage set at Gecko Galz was done with InkAid's Iridescent Pearl Gloss Precoat.  The tag is done with Twinkling H20s by LuminArte , the new Creative Imaginations' Oceana 6x6 stencil and modeling paste.

Gecko Galz project #1

Found Object: mermaid in a bottle.  I drizzled alcohol inks down the outside of a clear glass bottle that a friend gave me.  I used a Sharpie to darken the stopper which had been white.  I stamped with a specimen stamp I have onto a tag that I 'aged'.

The crowing glory though is the digital stamp from Gecko Galz from the mermaid series.  I printed her out onto vellum so she would show on both sides of the bottle.  To make her tail glimmer and glow, I painted her with LuminArt's Twinkling H20s.  Her hair and skin were colored with a soft color pencil.
