Gingersnap Creations 99: Random Redhead Challenge...Fans
This is my fan for the challenge. As I did not have anything Oriental, I decided to do my fan with a Victorian slant. After all, wasn't it the British who persuaded the Orient to open trade with the West?
I used Prima papers and flowers and hand drew the overlapping sections that form the fan. The shape of the fan is loosely based on the palm shaped church fans I remember from my childhood. Helmar Scrap Dots and the fabric adhesive...wonderful.
and here is the challenge from the Gingersnap Creations blog
for this Random Redhead Challenge! Use the image of a fan, a mini-fan or create a full-size fan - your choice. This simple and practical device yields fabulous opportunities for beautiful art.
When the challenge closes on May 15, 2011, we will pick 10 Ginger Gems - fabulous creations that we feel really exemplify that challenge's objective. The Ginger Gems will appear in our wrap-up post and in a slide show in the blog bar for an entire week and their creators will have the honor of displaying our Ginger Gems blog badge.
For the step by step directions to participate in this challenge, please go to the blog where you can also see the beautiful work done by my fellow design team members.
Thanks for looking!
