ACOT Altered Challenge for June
Each month at A Cherry on Top, the members of the Creative Teams each post a challenge. I do a monthly altered object one. I try to challenge the gals on the message board to use common household objects in new ways through altering.
This month my challenge was to use tissue paper to create an embellishment or paper or card .
To make mine, I crunched up some patterned paper and placed it on a precut card that I sprayed with an adhesive. I used a brayer over the paper and a gold stamp pad over the crinkles that resulted to add some interest and texture.
The flower is 3 circles rough cut and pinched from the back. I scrunched the edges of each layer and put a brad through the center to keep the layers together. This is a general occasion card.
Check out the rest of the challenges. And say hello to our newest creative design team member, Janet Miller who is joining us with her signature stitching, her amazing journaling and her keen eye for color and design. Congrats pal!

My doggy donation 8x8 mini album
These are just a sampling of the "just add photos" mini album I am donating to the Paws for the Cause crop. This is obviously the doggy themed album and the kitty one is about 3/4 done. Between the mini's I have done for the Florida Boxer Rescue and now this one, can you tell I am an animal lover. Both of my grand puppies are rescue dogs...one was/is a Katrina rescue baby (who now weighs over 90lbs)and I am a firm believer is pet rescue. Check out the crop!

A Cherry on Top Reveal: Altered drawer organizer
I found this drawer organizer at a home goods store a while back thinking it would be a good way to keep my ink pads grouped in their drawer. Alas! It didn't fit so I turned it into something else...a shadow box for my small but every growing collection of tiny and not so tiny bottles.
I used the Shimmerz paint in pink to covert the beige fabric on the outsides of the organizer into a soft glowing color, lined the backs of the shelves with lawyers of Tim Holtz' papers from his Vintage Shabby Paper Stack, added brads from KI and lace by Melissa Francis. All of these can be purchased at A Cherry on Top. The French hand dyed ribbon around the larger bottle came from Rainbow's End, in Dunedin, Florida.
Thank you for looking.

A Cherry on Top May altered object challenge
The Creative Team at ACOT host a challenge each at the beginning of each month. I have the altered object challenge with objects from around the house. This month my object is aluminum foil. The challenge is to create an embellishment or something to be used on a card or layout out of household aluminum foil.
I used a frame from the Dollar Store, aluminum foil, alcohol inks and a brayer to create this. Come join in the challenge!
