Color Me Excited

Nikki Rose, the owner of Gypsy Rose Paperie, has asked me to be on her Creative Team, the Gypsy Girls. The four of us will create with the free downloads which will be posted Tuesday through Friday on www.gypsyrosepaperie.com. From the main page, click on the fairy icon on the upper left to view the blog where you'll be able to see our work. I am Girl Friday! lol.

There is a blog scavenger hunt going on right now on the blog site with great prizes for matching blogs listed with a set of clues. Check it out!

I am pleased and happy to be a contributing member of this new company and this new CT. Congrats to my fellow Gypsy Girls: Rebecca Price, Marcie Morgan and Stacy Cohen.

Gypsy Rose Paperie does it again...free download

EDITED: The directions for making your own Vintage Tee will be in the Nov 1 edition of Scrapbooking.com I'll post a reminder the closer it gets. Thanks!

This last week, the download was the pages from a vintage Bridal book and I loved every image. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone getting married right away or I'd have used these to create a mini album for them. But I just had to use the images or part of them. I used the page from the book that read "Guest Autographs".

I can't wait to see what the next download challenge is at www.gypsyrosepaperie.com

Free download from Gypsy Rose Paperie (Image Two)

Gypsy Rose Paperie has two free download images up on the blog this week. I did the first one and posted it on www.postingfromparadise.blogspot.com two days ago. Due to the Tropical Storm Fay and our preparations yesterday (which were for nothing thank goodness), I had to wait until today to play with the second image. I painted the chipboard backing with a mix of Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Cranberry and a 7Gypsy color wash in pale pink. I printed the lady image on canvas paper and used painted on diluted Lumiere ink to color the shawl yet keep it sheer appearing. I added tiny dots onto the shawl with Stickles and a tiny tipped paint brush. I painted the hair netting with Stickles as well. I used Lumiere on her lips to add color. The butterfly is an acrylic piece I got from a Prima class I took at CHA this summer. I used Krylon copper to color it and backed the butterfly with a specialty paper.

Would love to see what others do with these images! Thanks, as always, for looking.

"But what do you do with it?"

My niece recently asked me this question and I was a bit hard put to answer. What do I do with all the things I have created? What do I do with all the little houses, both haunted and not, the painted and festooned martini glasses, the acrylic mini books, the painted canvases, the dress forms, the hinged "Friends" and "Love" thingys, the tiny printer's box? Well, the ones I don't give away, I put on this overflowing, crammed to the walls niche above my closet here in my work room where I can look at them and enjoy the pleasure and remember the angst I experienced during the process.

And what about the rest of the stuff I have accumulated...the flowers, the ribbons, the paints, the specialty papers, the one of a pair earrings and the broaches missing a stone or two that I've discovered at antique stores and flea markets or belt buckles like the ones I found at Mystic Papers in AZ? My theory, and excuse, is you just never know when you might need one of these so to have is better than to have not, right? Besides that I freely admit I am a pack rat...er, ah collector. And I come from a long line of 'collectors'...it is just in my blood. That is my story and I am sticking to it!

Wylde Women Award from Roz.

Many thanks, Smoochie Girl Roz, for this and for Angie (http://3littlescraps.blogspot.com/) who also gave me this award!

WYLDE WOMEN award and the purpose of it is "to send love and acknowledgment to women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy". Isn't that lovely?

The rules are:

You can give it to one or one hundred or any number in between - it's up to you.
Make sure you link to their site in your post.

So here are my picks: Pam from KNK and ACOT for her seemingly bottomless well of energy and love and her remarkable ability to be so creative! And, she is a fellow wine lover to boot! and to Carla from KnK and Scrapbook News and Review for her spirit of care and concern and her optimism. Then there is dear Anne who gives us all absolution and to Janet M who helps us need it!
And now for a couple of international gals: my dear pal, Clare from NZ, who opened a whole to new vista for cooking for E and to whom I am thankful for the little book of love poems from which I read to E while he is cooking. Food has never tasted so heavenly. And to Ruth, my sweet friend in Australia, who has such purpose to her life and lives with such integrity.

So many others I could name and many have already gotten this award (ahem, Chris, Kip, Linda, Teri, Mama Jayne et al)...perhaps I only know Wylde Women and more is the blessing!

Here are the gals' links in order
