A work in progress

Every now and then I just want to play and this is the start of something I have been wanting to do for quite some time. I am hoping to put all the things I want to go into this album into an Art Bin and have E take it to the beach when we go. I'll be flying in from CHA in Chicago to meet him so I am hoping if I put the bin with the rest of the to-be-packed things, he'll remember to bring it for me

We'll have far too much to do our friends, some of whom we see only once a year, the first week but the second week, he and I are on our own. There are daily afternoon showers that call for naps or tv and I'd rather play with some of this stuff...wouldn't you? This will be a picture less mini album by necessity as my baby book that had many of my childhood pictures in it was lost eons ago in one of our moves.

Happy First of July!

I met Debi White through the Hilltop Memories Crops and Traveling Store (www.hilltopmemories) but only got to know her better at a crop in Ruskin a month or so ago. Now, I am a big Deb fan! She has the most wonderful sense of humor and even more, one of the biggest and most caring hearts I have known. Deb is involved as a volunteer for the Boxer Rescue. There is a fund raising event coming up Oct. 25 with silent auctions, sales, vendors (and not just for Boxer dogs) etc.
Although my honey and I do not own a dog currently, we have owned them (or been owned by them...lol) and feel strongly about funding for deserted and abandoned pets of all types. Our daughter and her husband are the foster parents to a pup (Gumbo who now weighs 85 healthy pounds) who was abandoned during Katrina in La.
I made a little doggie album for the auction...a few pages are shown here as did others at the Birthday Crop this past weekend.

My thank you gift

to the gals who have signed up for my altered bottle class at the Hilltop Memories crop. We'll draw numbers and pick. Everyone gets one finished and one raw clothes pin. Hope you all like these. The idea of painting them pretty colors came from one of my favorite magazines, Somerset Life! I've added rub ons and gems and (don't tell)kept a few raw ones for myself for another idea I have brewing. Thanks.

Altered dress form

I did one of these metal dress forms about 3 years ago and have collected four in all of various sizes and shapes. I have decided to do the four seasons out of these for a rotating display in my work room. This is Spring. I think she needs a hat with netting and a tiny bird, what about you?

Finished the danglies for the swap

Poor poor altered art blog...it has become riddles with cob webs from lack of use! I've been madly scrap booking and need to devote a bit more time to this blog too!

These are my danglies for the swap with some of the By Hand artists from Quetfire. These are some of the the most talented women in the altered arts/stamping field and I just hope these are up to their standards. I had such fun creating a variety of danglies for the swap.

Am working more and more on my Through My Garden Gate album and will post an update ASAP. I am teaching two classes at Hilltop Memories Birthday crop in a couple of weeks and one is my altered bottles class. I could only find bottles for 7 and each gets 3 different sized bottles, two sets of rub ons, a topper or two and use of the Lumiere paints to colorize the rub-ons. Such fun! The other class is the Cup Cake book and it has been a delight to design. Still have a few opening for that class!

This is such a fun project and these make the best gifts filled with bath salts or even seasonings for a kitchen. I love doing these!

Sorry about that...I have neglected my poor little altered art blog and am sorry. I have a few things I have been working on in the altered realm but nothing is finished. I have done several layouts and fun things of the scrap nature and put those on the other blog.

I promise to have more goodies to share very soon.
