Layouts incorporating inking and ephemera

Scrapbook layouts

Scrapbook layouts (a small selection)

In "Beauty", I gilded on the back of a transparency to illuminate and showcase the photo. After the gilding was completed, I ran a stylus through some of the swirls for interest. "My Mom at Four" incorporates some use of Krylon inks, vintage pieces and distressing to add more texture to the layout. In "Fall" is inked the edges of the various patterned papers to pop them one from the other and twined wire around the chipboard title letters adding glass leaves for dimension.

I often make my own background papers for layouts using acrylic paints, Lumieres, inks of all kinds, and chalk inks to create a vellum looking paper. I use stamping both with rubber stamps and acrylics to create borders and other embellishments for these layouts. My forte is heritage for which I have been published the most. On these I use such techniques as photo transfers and enhanced ephemera.

Techniques

I used a variety of techniques on these acrylic hearts which make interesting pieces on either card, altered books or scrap book pages.

1. Sticklers 2. Stamping with metal ink 3. Stamping with Stayzon and bling 4. Glittered paper 5. Duel rub-ons 6. alcohol inks swirled with gold Lumiere.
