Nana's Album

About six or seven years ago, I started a memory album about my grandmother.  I found two amazing vintage embossed tin ceiling tiles at a little shop in Dunedin, Florida and the project took off from there.  The problem arose when I went to put the album and about six of the layouts I had done together.  The ceiling tiles are exactly 12x12 and, unfortunately, the page protectors were a bit beyond that.  Until a couple of days ago, when I thought to add lace around the edges of the two tiles that form the album, my Nana's album gathered dust in an art bin on a shelf.  Until today, when darling friend, Cynthia, found the perfect lace for my Nana's album in her stash, I still had not done much more about this.  And now...on to the back tile and more work on the album pages.  Thank you, Cynthia!

I scanned most of the old photos I have onto canvas or fabric paper, enhanced them with a variety of mediums such as soft colored pencils, watercolors, glitter and paints.

I have the memorial the nursing home wrote about my grandmother when she died and I believe I'll put that on the inside cover.  It was a lovely tribute to her.

Thank you for looking!

Gecko Galz Aug reveal

The background is from one of this month's collage sets as is the dragon fly that I printed on vellum and 'sparkled' up!  I love the variety of images that Gecko Galz has in the collections.  I printed out one of the collage images and ephemera sets onto a fabric paper, added lace, a flower and used soft colored pencils and Krylon Inks to finish this cover to a small notebook.  The possibilities are endless!  Check out this month's item HERE.

Tag...you're it!

Does anyone else collect tags?  I save them from clothing, packaging, cards...you name it.  I love the variety of shapes and the colors.  I've found some with sheer ribbons and even fabrics.  I make a template out of the tag, scan the template and print the tag out onto whatever medium I want to use on a card, altered project or layout.  LOVE my tag collection.  What about you?

Home from the beach

and truly refreshed.  While I did not scrap or create for our 3 weeks away, I did pick up some fun products and great inspiration at my very favorite ever stamp art store, Owl and the Pussycat, in Ft. Myers Fl.  And I added a few papers from a small and odd scrap book store (the only one still there).  Taking some of these goodies to the next Cheeky Chics crop.  Unfortunately I will only be able to attend on Sunday.  I also got to hang out with some scrap pals: Barb, Janet who owns Scrapbooks Etc, Kim and my sweet friend, Lynda Kay.

Ad challenge

The crop to raise money for Oklahoma is over by a while so I am going to post my ad challenge now.  I am a huge fan of using ads in magazines like some people use sketches.  I challenge people to flip the ads, invert them, mirror them or whatever.

Here was the ad.

And here is my take on the ad.
Does anyone out there but me use ads like sketches?  Maybe we need an ad challenge board?
