It's About a Girl May 15 challenge: Sunbursts

This is a fun challenge and it even comes with a great tutorial.  Check it out HERE.  This is my take on this challenge.

I did a similar one of Landon a couple of years ago.  This is one of my 3 favorite beach pics of our little girly girl and the swim hat her mama got her is so funny!  I had a blast with this challenge.

About a Boy May 15 challenge...my take

I've become addicted to these challenges at About a Boy and About a Girl.  I've gotten so many more layouts done about the Grands the past couple of months following these two challenge blogs.  The May 15th. challenge at About a Boy is "White plus One".  Check here for the complete challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge

I ran the photo mat paper and the broad bottom piece through my corrugater  for some  added dimension and found the perfect corrugated letters to match.

The Twins were about 15 months here and already dreaming of cooking with Papa.  He says next year, early Dec. the boys will be replacing their mama in the holiday cookie baking marathon...ok, well, they will be helping.

Heading off to Posh Scraps tomorrow for our last Wed. crop (sob!).  I'll be working on the challenge for the About a Girl that went up on the 15th. as well.

As always, thanks so much for looking.  All comments are greatly appreciated.

A DT call at one of my favorite challenge sites!  It's All About the Boy

What fun!

Had my layout featured at It's All About the Boy!  Thank you so much!

And watch this spot.  My sabbatical at Gecko Galz has ended.  We are winding down with our Grands' care and I fell like Gene Autry..."Back in the Saddle Again".

Thanks for checking back to see what I've been up to...and check out Bottle Works!

Blue Fern Studios sketch

I have been doing quite a few sketches lately as I have mentioned before.  This one from Blue Fern Studios really caught my eye (see the sketch here).  I tried to get the lovely gate and fence but one of the places nearby listed did not carry that one.  I gave this my own twist and will not submit it for their contest as it does not use their product.  I do want to give proper credit to Michele Singh who designed the sketch.

Thank you so much for looking! And please check out the Blue Fern site as their products are lovely and I can't wait to get my hands on some.  I have an order pending with one of the distributors.

Last layout for NSD

This challenge was to use four or more 'insta prints' on a layout.  I had fun with this one.  It took me longer to print the pics than it did to finish the layout.  Thanks Jill Goodhart for the rub ons...they made this go fast.

Doing this layout brought back so many wonderful memories of that January a couple of years ago when Clare, Janet M, Pam B and I headed south to Captiva Island.  Clare had treated us all to a few days in our own lovely cabin at 'Tween Waters Inn  and we had a blast.  We put up a tiny Christmas tree, had snow men lights around our front window on our screened in porch and celebrated our Christmas belatedly.  We took long walks on the beach (some longer than we intended), laughed ourselves silly and played, played, played.  Not much beats a good time with lovely friends.

So, with thanks to Scrapbook.com and this challenge, I was able to relive so many of those memories from that wonderful time on the island.

Next stop?  Two sketches I found on line.  I don't normally do sketches but these looked like such fun i can't resist!

Redoux plus one

And now my noun (boys) agrees with the pronoun(thiers)...lol.  Here we are, a bunch of women scrapping and laughing away the day and not a single one of us noticed this layout was missing the "S" off   "Boys".  Thank goodness for E who caught this.  And apologies to All About the Boy.

My second layout of the day was inspired by the "Party on the Page" challenge at Scrapbook.com.  Check it out HERE

Scrapping the Day away...Happy National Scrap Book Day

Here is my first one for the day.  This is for the May 1st. challenge at About a Boy challenge blog.
To play along with these fun challenge, you can read more details on this challenge HERE

Hopefully, I'll have more layouts to post before the day is done!.

Catching up

I've been doing a lot of the challenges at It's All About the Boy and It's All About the Girl lately and have been motivated to go back into the photos of the Grands and fill in some gaps in the Twins album from birth to year one.  (um...they will be 3 in a bit over a month!).  I took this picture of Landon right before the boys were starting to crawl.  LOVE the expression on the little guy's face.

Thanks for looking.

May challenge at It's All about the Girl

The challenge for May was to introduce our "little ladies" to the blog and here is my intro to my darling grand daughter, Leighton.  She looks so serious in the picture which is why I love this one so much.  She gets pretty intense when she is learning something new or trying something for the first time and then she is such a playful, happy child and so spontaneous.  Check out the challenge here.
I am thoroughly enjoying both the Girl and Boy challenge blogs as they are helping me to scrap some pictures I need to for the Grands' albums.
