More danglies

These little guys are addictive....the possibilities are endless and so much fun. I probably have about half the contents of my work room on the desk top from the last couple I made. Have to stop for a bit and move some laundry along...but I shall be back, baby! (said in my best Arnold S voice)!

Arte y Pico Blog Award: I'm smiling ear to ear

My little art blog here was given the Arte y Pico Award by Kris Dickerson (http://mostalgiccollage.blogspot.com) whom I know from Stampin' D'Amour (link on side bar.)

I am pasting here what Kris has her on her blog and will add my nominations as well. Thank you Kris!

There are 5 rules attached to this award:1) You have to pick 5 blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contributes to the blogging community, no matter what language.2) Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.4) Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of "Arte y Pico" blog (arteypico.blogspot.com), so everyone will know the origin of this award.5) To show these rules.
Having done so, I want to acknowledge these five blogs which I enjoy and inspire me:
(I will post these through out the day so check back often)!

Yogi's blog http://yogiemp.blogspot.com/ (her calligraphy sends chills down my spine)

Robin's blog http://heartfelt.typepad.com/(her photography is breathtaking).

Dawn's blog http://fldawn.typepad.com/outlaw_paper_artists/2008/04/april-challenge.html (where everyone is welcome and encouraged to create!)

Close up of Coyaba Gardens flowers and leaves

The full version of this layout is on my postingfromparadise.blogspot

I had pressed the Ginkgo leaves about two years ago when I found them on Gasparilla Island biking with my Ft. Myers' neighbor, Deb. Because Glimmer Mist tends to only bead on porous surfaces like these leaves, I sprayed them with an acrylic sealer first, them added the Glimmer Mist, blotting it after a bit to soak up the excess. When these dried, I applied All Purpose Ink by Tsukineko (coming soon to KnK store)and allowed it to dry. I could have applied the API (All Purpose Ink) to the leaves without the acrylic spray as it is best suited for porous surfaces but wanted the color from the Glimmer Mists along with the Champagne Mist color of the API. The large Heidi Swapp flower was white and I used a Glimmer Mist on it, also blotting the excess. The other pressed ferns and flowers are by Nature's Pressed.
